RSVP Bone Builders is an exercise program that incorporates strength training, balance training, stretching, and fun into one hour, twice weekly exercise sessions. Each session includes a ten minute discussion about topics such as: fall prevention, heart health, proper nutrition, diet, vitamins and safety.
Proper exercise stresses bones. Bones, stimulated by the stress, will increase in density. Bone building relies upon weight training to protect against fractures caused by osteoporosis by increasing muscular strength and bone density. Bone Builders is based on this simple bodily response.
Horizon Health RSVP staff will train volunteers to lead exercise sessions at donated sites.
