Family Caregivers

Your job as a caregiver is a rewarding experience, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming. While you delight in the ability to help your loved one, to feel close to them, and to be satisfied that you are doing all you can for them, it can also be lonely, frustrating, and exhausting.

Horizon Health is committed to providing you with the support you need during your caregiving years. We offer:

  • Education
  • Information
  • Resources
  • Support

Education

Horizon Health publishes a newsletter with news and advice for caregivers. Horizon Health also arranges conferences and workshops on issues vital to caregivers and professionals. We also share new product information and utilize media resources to improve the public’s understanding of caregiving and the issues surrounding aging.

Educational resources can be obtained in the Caregiver’s Resource Library at Horizon Health Services Center in Pierz.

Support

Caregivers need to also take care of themselves.  Caregivers stay healthy longer and experience less stress if they have a support group for practical advice, understanding, and affirmation.

Horizon Health Faith in Action hosts monthly support group gatherings providing caregivers with a safe and supportive environment to share thoughts, ideas, concerns, tears, fears, and laughter.
