Celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day!
May 30th, 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of a special day for older adults: National Senior Health & Fitness Day !
Over 100,000 seniors will participate in fitness events across all 50 states on this day. Organized by the Mature Market Resource Center (MMRC), here are a few inspirational ways you can get active:

Go For a Nature Walk
Morrison county has multiple scenic parks with walking trails you can visit. Charles A. Lindbergh State Park has lots of easy-to-navigate trails as well as a rich history to learn about and experience. Another recommended spot is the Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. This large refuge is home to the Platte River trail, a 3.7 mile hike that has an abundance of wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.
Go Shopping in Little Falls
Even though you might not think of shopping as exercise, you definitely burn calories while out and about. The Shoppes of Little Falls is a highly reviewed hot spot for finding unique treasures and enjoying the sport of shopping!

Get in A Round of Golf
Pierz boasts a beautiful golf course built by a group of men in the 1930’s. This historic 9-hole course is an aesthetic masterpiece! Even if you are an amateur golfer, this is a course you will thoroughly enjoy.
Visit the Zoo
If you are an animal lover, spend time exploring the zoo! The Pine Grove Zoo is the wildest place in Central Minnesota. They offer guided educational tours where you can learn about a variety of animal species and view artifacts!

Work Out In The Gym
Perhaps you are looking to build more muscle and balance as you age. Pierz offers the gym Amp Fitness with personal trainers available. Otherwise, there is a yoga studio, 24-hour gyms, and even Tae Kwon Do offered in Little Falls!
